Women in Motion has provided numerous engagement opportunities at Batory, previously featuring hybrid workshops, happy hours, a clothing donation drive last spring, and more. These events provide valuable opportunities for further involvement within Batory and our greater community.
In March of 2024, Women in Motion launched our Mentor Circles program, creating a dedicated space for mentorship and growth. This initiative provides valuable opportunities for professional growth and builds meaningful connections across departments and managerial levels. We rolled out our program with 10 groups, matching a mentor circle lead with a group of four or five mentees.
Many participants shared that mentor circles gave them a chance to connect and build relationships with people from around the organization that they don’t normally interact with. One participant, Jeanette Cruz, shared her experience: “Mentor Circles has given me the opportunity to connect with strong women across different departments in a space where we can be open, learn from each other’s diverse perspectives, and grow together. It’s a place where trust, vulnerability, and shared experiences create meaningful connections, all while under the guidance of a fierce mentor I deeply admire and trust.”
Mentor Circle leads don’t follow a set curriculum; instead, they share their knowledge and wisdom while addressing topics that interest their group. Discussions have ranged from confidence and imposter syndrome, to building upon your personal brand, to organizational changes and even learning more about other teams at Batory.
Not only are participants learning from their mentor, but they are also learning from each other. “One major positive impact is the collective wisdom it offers—rather than relying on a single mentor, participants benefit from multiple viewpoints, which can lead to better problem-solving, career growth, and skill development.” - Araceli Crook. The groups provide a safe space for participants to express themselves, share more about their experiences, and receive support for challenges.
Women at Batory also have the opportunity to connect and grow through Females in Food (FIF), the leading professional platform for advancing women and driving business results across every sector of the F&B industry. Through a comprehensive 360-degree approach to talent development, FIF provides women with unmatched opportunities to grow, lead, and succeed.
Females in Food also partners with organizations to enhance visibility and drive impact through talent connection, leadership development, and employer branding.
